Leaders from the $67 billion organic industry will gather in Washington, May 14-16, for the Organic Trade Association’s (OTA) annual Organic Week. The event features conference programming, networking events and meetings with lawmakers about organic policy issues.
OTA’s advocacy focus this year is on the Farm Bill, and assuring it includes financial and policy investments to ensure:
Organic standards are responsive to market demands.
Research and risk management tools are fair and equitable in their support of organic producers.
Conservation efforts recognize the contributions of organic producers.
Organic supply chains are resilient in the face of risks, such as disease, weather and increasing costs.
