Macadamia nuts are high in both monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats, which are known as the “healthy fats.”
Consumption of macadamias may help to address inflammation (Lipids. 2007;42[6]:583-587) and may benefit brain health (J Nutr Health Aging. 2014;18:496-502).
Macadamias have been compared to avocados due to their many health benefits.
Macadamias have a favorable ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3, at 6:1. Too much Omega-6 can contribute to inflammation (Biomed. Pharmacother. 2002;56[8]:365-379).
